Park innovation adopted nationally

National Public Radio shared a story last week that people in St. Louis Park have known for a long time. Teens do better when they know adults care about them. The Building Assets Reducing Risks (BARR) program was created in 1998 by then freshmen counselor Angela Jerabek as a means to smooth the transition to high school. Based on relationships and data, BARR has been successful in significantly cutting failure rates. Angela has gone on to establish BARR as a nonprofit, helping schools across the nation.
