Jenny moves on to fuel other passion

During the past 18 years, if you’ve visited the Rec Center, swam in the pool or played on a sports team, you probably have Jenny Buskey to thank. Although you may not know her, during her tenure Jenny has had a hand in virtually every aspect of the St. Louis Park’s Parks & Recreation Department. Asset Champion Jenny left her job at the city at the end of August.

Jenny’s passion has made St. Louis Park a great place for young people to work and play. Jenny oversaw the 50 seasonal staff that work at the Rec Center pool and Oak Hill Park’s splash pad. “I realize that kids are the city,” Jenny said, as she talked about youth as important resources. “Our staff is the first point of contact for the public.” It is imperative that they are trained and high school and college-aged employees understand the pivotal role they play.

Jenny has also been the key person from Parks & Rec in planning the Children First Ice Cream Social. Jenny is moving on to work with her other passion, horses. She has a 40-acre property where she will be boarding horse and giving horseback riding lessons. Best to you Jenny!
