Maria will be attending the Art Institutes International in the fall and studying graphic design.

Asset #24 Bonding to School

Brittany, Day One Initiative

Brittany graduated this spring from St. Louis Park High School and where she was a member of the Day One Initiative. Her painting depicts a young person bonding to school as a teen’s hand connects with the wing of an Oriole, which is the school mascot. Day One is a student-run activity at St. Louis Park High School that engages in creative, interactive, all-school activities to promote school unity and help all students feel connected to their school and proud to be an Oriole! Brittany also designed the first day of school t-shirt for Day One. Brittany will be attending Moorhead State University in the fall and plans to study social work.

Asset #40 Positive View of Personal Future
Jessica, Girl Scouts

Jessica has been a Girl Scout for 13 years. A 2009 graduate of St. Louis Park High School, Jessica began her Basic Cadet Training at the U.S. Air Force Academy at the end of June. The course of Jessica’s painting illustrates the projected course of her life personally, which is why the university stage is depicted by the Cadet Chapel of the Air Force Academy. She hopes Girl Scouts has as positive of an effect on many girls’ lives as it has had on hers. Last month Jessica was one of 22 young people in St. Louis Park honored as a 2009 Caring Youth.
