More info...
- Before summer programs started at the Nature Center, staff received asset lists for the ages of youth they work with and assets were highlighted reminding them of specific areas where their work makes an impact.
- At Central Community Center, staff tries to "name" asset building through their work with children and families. It's something that's at the core of their work, but they deliberately work to identify it.
- The Parks & Recreation Department worked with neighbors as they designed the playground in Fernhill Park. The city hosted a meeting where 100 neighbors and representatives from Torah Academy voted on the structure. Installation is planned for early August.
- At the April Asset Champion Gathering, Becky McConnell noticed that during brainstorming sessions, the tables with young people tended to have more ideas. This triggered the thought to more formally get ideas from the youth who volunteer at Westwood Hills Nature Center.

OK, you Asset Champions are being shy! Here are some of the things I have heard about.

- A private school's newsletter included Children First and assets info.
- A champion trained church staff on the assets.
- A daycare provider had a book trade with the children she cares for.
- When donated books were distributed, the assets were slipped inside.
- A teacher shared the assets during parent teacher conferences.

Anyone feel free to expand on what's above...or add your own!

I was part of the team handing out the postcards at the Ice Cream Social. A few days later, I received one of those postcards in my mailbox at Peter Hobart! What a wonderful surprise!
