St. Louis SPARKS with Children First during the annual meeting on Thursday, March 11, 7-9 p.m. at Methodist Hospital in the HVC Auditorium. The meeting will focus on Sparks, new research from Search Institute. A Spark is a special quality, skill or interest that lights us up. When young people know and use their Sparks they experience joy and energy. Those who participate in the annual meeting will learn about Sparks in a variety of ways:
* A panel discussion about what SPARKS are, why they are important and how we all can help oxygenize them in young people will be moderated by Children First Co-Chair and St. Louis Park junior Kelsey Reid. Panelists are Becky Bakken, director of marketing, Citizens Independent Bank, Bria Evans, sophomore, St. Louis Park High School, Oscar Reed, former Minnesota Viking and coordinator of the Multicultural Program, St. Louis Park High School, and Austin Broz, freshman, St. Louis Park High School.
* The premier of Search Institute’s SPARKS video featuring teens from St. Louis Park High School.
* A skit featuring Mayor Jeff Jacobs who will return as Asset Champion Man in his red cape.
Delectable refreshments will be served courtesy of CRAVE Restaurant. The event is free and open to the public, but a reservation is required. Please email Karen. Or RSVP with the animated invitation with the link in the right side bar. View the animation all the way through before you click RSVP.
