St. Louis Park’s black students have a graduation rate that is 20% higher than the state average. School Superintendent Rob Metz credits this to St. Louis Park High School’s innovative transition program, Building Asset Reducing Risks (BARR) program.
“Once students form that personal bond, they begin to care about what happens in school. And once they begin to care about what happens in school, their success almost always improves,” said Metz.
